A small terrace in front of the house can be used by the owner. The entrance area (about 10 qm) includes a storage room (outdoor furniture, bikes, wood for fireplace, …) and a staircase leads to the open-plan living area (about 19 qm). On the wall towards the staircase is a kitchen range and across there is plenty of room for a comfortabe living room lounge with an open Franklin-fireplace. Three steps up lead to a sleeping area with 2 bedrooms (18 qm and 10 qm) and 1 bathroom (about 3 qm). The fantastic views from both bedroom windows show natural hills behind Cana as far as Monte Labro. CANA: is situated in the middle between Rome, Florence and Pisa – all these cities including their airports (national and international flight connections) are in easy reach within 1 ½ to 2 hours. Cana was established – due to its location „tra mare e monti“ (between the sea and the mountains) – in this part of Tuscany in the mediaeval times as a strategic fortress from the Medici rulers against the prevalance of Siena. Today Cana has about 300 inhabitants, there are two supermarkets, a butcher („Circolo“) and there will be a second bar opening soon (including a terrace with stunning views across the valley). Preschool and school (partly classes with only 2 – 5 kids) are in the two vicinal villages (Vallerona or Roccalbegna) with daily schoolbus connections. The restaurant „Parco Castagni“ (very close to Cana) is a real quiet tipp (not just for its price but also its quality) among the locals (people even come regularly from Grosseto) and you lunch or dine in the shade of century old chestnut-trees.
WINE: The best winegrower of the Maremma – „Villa Patrizia“ - is close to „Parco Castagni“, Montalcino with its famous „Brunello“ is in about 20 km linear distance from Cana as well as Antinori, Frescobaldi, Castell Banfi, etc.
TYRRHENIAN SEA: In summer the Tyrrhenian Sea is very close with its endless marvellous beaches between Castiglione della Pescaia and Argentario - society peninsula around the islands of the tuscan Archipelago, Giglio and Monte Christo – national parcs „Maremma“ and „Parco del Uccellina“ and the cliffbeaches of Argentario. In the fishing ports of Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano you will find some of the best fish restaurants around Italy. In both these seaports as well as in Marina di Grosseto and Punta Ala you will find an outstanding infrastructure with moorings and boatyards for yacht owners and yacht charters, also daily ferry services to all small islands and the islands of Elba, Corsica and Sardinia.
Thermal springs (public and private) with lots of different wellness offers are about 30 km south of Cana.
WINTERSPORTS: 30 km drive to Monte Amiata (1.800 m) with 14 t-bar- and chairlifts (about 8 km of slopes for beginners and advanced).
HORSE RIDING: possible everywhere in the area, you can organise also horse-trekking-tours (one or more days) for beginners and advanced.
MOUNTAINBIKING AND HIKING: Monte Labro is the local national parc (under nature conservation) and absolut perfect for hiking and mountain-biking.
WELLNESS: about 30 km south you will find a lot of private and public wellness-offers and hot springs.
GOLF – in 2007 the most updated 18 whole golf course was built close to Saturnia, golf courses in Argentario, Pelagone and Punta Ala, all in easy reach within half an hour of Cana and open all year due to the mild mediterranean climate.
